Ask your State Senator/Representative to Help Cancer Patients in Massachusetts
Under many private insurance plans, patients with cancer face extremely high out-of-pocket costs for their life-saving medications. As a result, some cancer patients in Massachusetts must make the devastating choice between the vital prescriptions they need and putting food on the table for their families.
However, a bill introduced by Senator Sal DiDomenico, SB 541 would put much-needed treatments in the hands of Massachusetts’s cancer patients. This bill would do so by putting a $100 cap on the out-of-pocket cost that a patient must pay for one month’s supply of a covered prescription drug.
As a member of the Joint Committee on Financial Services, your senator/representative will be considering this legislation as early as this week and his/her support is crucial to its success, which would make much-needed treatments accessible to cancer patients across Massachusetts.
